Summary:In this paper, tanh-coth method was applied to derive the exact travelling wave solutions to the Korteweg-de-Vries and Burgers equation with forcing term(fKDVB). Solutions that are linear combination of solitary and shock wave solutions, and periodic wave solutions are obtained, by reducing the equation to the homogeneous type using a wave transformation. The method with the help of symbolic computation tool box provides a systematic way of solving many physical models involving nonlinear partial differential equations in mathematical physics.
