Summary: | The essentiality of critical thinking as key educational goal across the globe has been hammered by various scholars. In the golden age of Islam during the Abbasid Caliphate Islamic civilization proudly produced galaxy of scholars whose impacts cut across cultures, regions and religions. Unfortunately, this glory is lost by Muslim world today(Ahmad, 2018; Hakimi, 2005; Hashim, 2005; Hashim & Rossidy, 2000; Niyozov & Memon, 2011) due to ignorance of the efficacious role of critical thinking skills which is the auto pilot for surviving the world of rapid changes and multifaceted challenges(Ganapathy, et'al, 2017; Hosu, 2015). This article is a humble attempt to explore from the literature on the impact or efficacy of Qur'an as the basis of CTS. 2) To examine the importance of Qur'an as the foundation for explicit teaching CTS in Islamic Studies. 3) To propose a conceptual framework for Islamic CTS. |
