Equatorial plasma bubbles zonal velocity in the monthly variations over Southeast Asia

A study of the zonal velocity variations of equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) using the GPS data from Malaysia Real-Time Kinematics GNSS Network (MyRTKnet), IGS and suGAr networks over Southeast Asia during period of February to April 2011, is presented here. This study was carried out based on 49 ni...

QC Physics A study of the zonal velocity variations of equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) using the GPS data from Malaysia Real-Time Kinematics GNSS Network (MyRTKnet), IGS and suGAr networks over Southeast Asia during period of February to April 2011, is presented here. This study was carried out based on 49 nights of EPBs zonal velocity which have successfully calculated from determinations in the rate of total electron content (ROTI) keogram. The purpose of this study is to investigate the zonal velocity variations of EPBs calculated from the ROTI keogram. Our analysis reveals that the active occurrence of EPBs is on March and the inactive is in February 2011. We also found maximum average zonal velocity of 167m/s on March 6, 2011 and minimum average of 73m/s on March 17, 2011. Therefore, we reported the variations in average drift of EPBs was different significantly in the middle of months. 2019 Conference or Workshop Item PeerReviewed Sarudin, I. and Hamid, N. S.
