The experimental setup was carefully designed and the outputs from the ADXL335 accelerometer were used for comparison with the output voltage, V o of the vibration transducer. The experimental results for V o are in broad agreement with the accelerometer trends. The ADXL335 accelerometer outputs were also used to validate the vibration transducer model by comparing the vibration transducer output voltage, Vo , with the simulation output voltage, V so. Both the vibration transducer and simulation outputs obtained peak energy when the weight was set at 171.41 g [gram]. The vibration transducer and approach used to optimize the transducer parameters presented in this paper have the potential to be used as a useful tool for the detection of seismic signals.
