Summary: | Human trafficking is an issue prevalent in most countries including Malaysia.This article aims to discuss the findings of a qualitative analysis on the causes of human trafficking in Malaysia.The study involves data collection, in-depth interviews with five informants among the authorities involved directly in dealing with human trafficking. Based on the findings from the interviews conducted, there are several causes of human trafficking in Malaysia. Among these are human attitudinal weaknesses, the presence of demand and outsourcing companies and foreign employment agencies. |
