Description
Summary:This study aims to develop a 3D Geometry learning strategy through SketchUp Make (SPPD-SUM) and examine the effects of SPPD-SUM on students’ visual spatial skills (VSS) and level of Geometry thinking (LGT). The first part of the study was based on the ADDIE model of instructional design, while the second part focused on the quantitative data carried out on 34 form-five students for 6 weeks. The instruments used to measure VSS were Purdue Spatial Visualization for Rotation Test (PSVT:R), Purdue Spatial Visualization Test for View (PSVT:V), Transformation for 3D to 2D test (T3D2DT) and Mental Cutting Test (MCT) while van Hiele Geometry Test (vHGT) was employed to measure LGT. Statistical results suggested that SPPD-SUM could increase students’ VSS and LGT. The findings showed that SPPD-SUM could be used to enhance students’ VSS and LGT.
