Summary:Professionals are integral to the project. However, conflicts of interest among professional such as clients and contractors, project managers, field engineers, quantity surveyors, designers / architects play an important role in unethical practices that have an adverse effect on product quality, trust and investor confidence in the construction industry. Therefore, this study aims to identify some of the ethical issues that occur among the professionals in the construction industry as well as the main factors that encourage this practice in Malaysia. Fifty (50) set of questionnaire forms were collected among the professional in the Klang Valley area. The collected data was then analysed using Frequency Distribution and Average Index method. The findings showed that there are many unethical practices were found among professional in procurement process, 12 out of 21 were indicated as high such as withdrawal of tender for exchange of money and revealing confidential information. The study revealed that unethical give negative impact to the industry in term of quality and financial effect. Heavier penalty and ethical leadership are among ways to reduce unethical practices among professional in the Malaysian industry.
