The salt, C2HO4 -.C5H7N+.0.5 H2O, is an ionic ensemble assisted by hydrogen bonds established between 4-aminopyridinium cations, oxalate anions and water molecules. The three components thus construct a supramolecular assembly with a three-dimensional hydrogen bonded framework.
