An analysis of X-Y table performance via input shaping

In industrial applications, vibration due to an undesirable non-linearities of a system such as friction causes a degradation of contouring performance in CNC machine. In this paper, an analysis of X-Y table performance for a class of CNC system is carried out with the existence of friction. An inpu...

An input shaping is used to minimize the effect of vibration and a PID controller is used to achieve the desired performance of X-Y table. The systems is configured to follow a varieties of contour profile to evaluate the system performance. The result shows that the input shaping can greatly reduce the vibration of the system IEEE Computer Society 2014 Article PeerReviewed Abdul Razak, Shahrul Hamzah and Husain, Abdul Rashid (2014) An analysis of X-Y table performance via input shaping. 2014 5th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems: Technological Convergence for Sustainable Future, ICIAS 2014 - Proceedings . http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/ICIAS.2014.6869539
