Civil engineering (General) An Elasticity Matrix is proposed for a concrete and steel sheet composite slab with trapezoidal corrugation. Modified transformed section method is utilized. One layer of an equivalent material with a notional thickness is used to formulate flexural and torsional rigidities. A special purpose code is developed in MATLAB environment. The applied techniques for programming are elaborated. The code offers the diagrams and maximum values of displacement, moments, and slopes of a rectangular, simply supported composite floor decking with arbitrary dimensions. It is found that at least a cubic polynomial is needed to estimate the effect of the thickness of the concrete layer of the slab on maximum displacement, Wz. At least a quadratic polynomial is needed to predict the effect of the length of the major span of the slab on maximum displacement, Wz, of the slab. And at least a quadratic polynomial is needed to estimate the effect of the length of the major span of the slab on the maximum moment, Mx, on major direction of the slab. LUSAS software is utilized to validate the MATLAB code. Convergence study is also conducted. The consistency between LUSAS and MATLAB results confirms the reliability of the code 2014 Thesis NonPeerReviewed Mohammadi Bazargan, Hossein (2014) Analysis of concrete-corrugated-steel slab based on modified transformed section method.
