In this novel shape, the classical hollow spheres are perforated so that the inner volume and surface are accessible. Perforated hollow sphere structures in a cubic pattern are modelled using the three-dimensional finite element method. By changing the geometrical properties of the joining element and the material properties of the spheres in a non-homogeneously bonded perforated hollow sphere structure, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, and initial yield stress are numerically evaluated.
