Summary:This study was to examine the relationship intercultural communication competence with the performance of support staff at University Technology Malaysia. Other than that, this study aims to look at the dimensions of intercultural communication competence is the dominant contribution to the performance of support staff at the University of Technology Malaysia. This study used a stratified random sampling method and the use of questionnaires to gather and collect data. A total of 326 support staff at the University of Technology Malaysia selected as study respondents. Next there are two types of statistics used in this study. The first statistic is a descriptive statistic; it is carried out to investigate the frequency, percentage, distribution, and the mean score for intercultural communication competence and job performance of support staff at the University of Technology Malaysia. The second is inferential statistics used to test the hypothesis, second test were used in the correlation test and multiple regression. Correlation test was used to test the intercultural communication competence with job performance, while the multiple regression test was used to examine the various dimensions of intercultural communication competence is the dominant contribution to job performance. Results showed that there was a significant relationship between intercultural communication competences with job performance. Other than that, the study results also showed that the dimension of motivation to communicate across culture is the dominant dimension contributes to job performance. At the end of the study researcher make several suggestions to the university and to the future of study.
