Summary:This research focuses on the problems regarding ageing people and also the expansion of one of the common services currently provided overseas. This research is about the reference of the community towards this service which will be provided in the community. From the percentage obtained, the community preference shows that there is a demand for Day Care Centers for the ageing people. Moreover, the demand curve further supports this demand for such centers in the Johor Bahru area. Data obtained from 447 respondents, a demand exists in five out of seven areas for a Day Care Center. However, it is also found that such service is unknown to the general public. Thus, there is a need for campaigning to introduce such service to the community. Besides that, there are two alternatives for the implementation of day care centers. One alternative is to have a general facility for all groups of ethnicity. This includes general facilities for exercising, jogging and rooms for doctors and medical care. On the other hand, another approach is to have separate facilities for different ethnic groups, whereby each ethnic is separated from each other in different buildings, and in each of the buildings are equipped with facilities tailored for and as required by that particular group of ethnic
