Over the past decade there has been substantial progress in the areas of wireless and optical communications. This leads to discuss the emerging technology iFSO (indoor Free Space Optics) also called Optical Wireless (OW). There are several ways to transceiver data in closed environment: Line of sight, wide line of sight and diffuse reflection link. The limitations on the performance of the optical transceiver in confine area, when using the diffuse reflection link is the scattering, absorption on the ceiling and walls, path delay and also the ISI because of the several path ways from reflections. To reduce the absorption or in the other word, to increase the received power several ways exist, which in this project the attempt is to give suggestions on how to implement iFSO in aircraft passenger cabin and show the limitations and also the way to minimize it. The system was simulated by using numerical software (Matlab) and the results of the simulations were modeled. 2010 Thesis NonPeerReviewed Mojarad, Ehsan Yousefi (2010) Modeling and simulation for indoor free space optical communication system.
