Electronics Nuclear engineering High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) technology is a new technology that can perform the tasks currently handled terrestrial and satellite systems. It is located at an altitude of 20 km to 25 km above ground. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the interference from HAPS ground station to a Fixed Service (FS) station and hence optimize the interference caused by suggesting the appropriate separation distance. All calculations are done using MATLAB following the ITU-R recommendations. The results show the interference to noise ratio (I/N) caused at a FS station from HAPS ground station decreases when distance between HAPS ground station and the FS station increases. The minimum separation distance required to obtain an optimum interference is shown for various elevation angles in transmission loss due to free space propagation and additional clutter loss condition. The interference caused at a FS station is evaluated and optimized by determining the appropriate separation distance required between HAPS ground station and the FS station. 2010 Thesis NonPeerReviewed Mat Akir, Rohaida (2010) Interference between HAPS ground station to fixed service station operating in frequency 5850-7075 MHz.
