Effect of local daily time on the stagnation temperature at the focal point of a parabolic concentrated system

Due to the depletion of fuel sources, as the petroleum and natural gas technologies are obsolete, the demand for alternative energy sources grows and increasing, includes the solar energy, wind energy, Hydrogen fuel cell, hydroelectric, geothermal and biomass. It is proved that the usage of petroleu...

It is proved that the usage of petroleum and natural gases as our primary energy sources had brought many major pollution problems to our environment and human life although the price for such petroleum and natural gas products are much cheaper compared to this renewable energy. Solar energy can be categorized as clean technology and environmental friendly. Many research related to solar energy had been carried out. Photo-voltaic (PV), solar thermal and concentrating solar techniques are some example of the area of research. It cannot be denied that the installation, capital and maintenance of these renewable energy devices are quite high, but there are many studies and researches had been carried out on how to minimize the cost. For example, the installation of photo-voltaic set for home package reached thousands. But that is the disadvantage; we can manage it in right way, in term of advantages, such as introducing this solar concentrator. The main objective of this project is to examine the effect of parabolic concentrator as the collector of the radiation from the sun towards the stagnation temperature at the focal point of the parabolic concentrator. This is due to be done by use of a self-made concentrator which can reach temperature until 218oC.
