Summary: | Ergonomic assessment in an assembly plant was conducted at vacuum manufacturing company to identify the level of ergonomics by determining the correlation between ergonomic risk factors with factors that influence the frequency as well as the level of pain experienced by workers. A total 46 female workers at day shift took part in answering the questionnaire related to demographic, exposure factors (frequency and level of pain) and outcome (body part pain). Frequencies (/), mean values and analysis of the correlation between ergonomic risk factors (demographic factors, inappropriate posture, manual handling/lifting, repetitive movement and psychosocial) with effect variables are calculated. The results show that there is significant relationship between ergonomic risk factors and factors that influence the frequency and the level of pain experienced by workers. Inappropriate posture, manual handling/lifting and repetitive movement show positive relationship with high correlation (rs > 0.7) with factors that influenced the frequency and the level of pain experienced by workers. For correlation between ergonomic risk factors and body part which experienced pain, also show strong relationship between them. |
