In this work, we review existing approaches that have been applied in fingerprint classification which concerning on image quality problems. We have also presents an approach for classifying a fingerprint by analysis of singularities features and improvement on image quality. The main objective of this study is to provide the reader with some insights into the strength and importance of the quality images for fingerprint classification system. In particular, it discusses the fingerprint singularities features that are useful for distinguishing fingerprint classes and reviews the methods of classification that have been applied based on these features.
