Description
Summary:Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology is a promising candidate for realization of Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs). Although UWB offers very high data rates, data throughput can still be increased if the available bandwidth is utilized in a more efficient manner. In this paper, we suggest a simple mechanism to improve bandwidth utilization, and hence maximize data throughput. Analysis and simulated results show that bandwidth utilization can easily be increased from around 80% to exceed 95% with minor modifications upon applying our mechanism.
