Comparative study on immersed microfiltration (MF) and hybrid system with powdered activated carbon (PAC) and zeolite (ZEO) on removal of high concentration of arsenic.
This paper desaibes a study on immersed membrane filtration and its hybrid systems with powdered activated carbon (PAC) and zeolite (ZEO) for removal of high concentration of arsenic and other associated contaminants for drinking water production. The study was conducted using both batch test and ex...

Sanitary engineering This paper desaibes a study on immersed membrane filtration and its hybrid systems with powdered activated carbon (PAC) and zeolite (ZEO) for removal of high concentration of arsenic and other associated contaminants for drinking water production. The study was conducted using both batch test and experimental pilot scale. Appropnate operating parameters such as pH, contact time, adsorbate types and concentrations were monitored and analyzed. PAC and ZEO were primarily utilized in immersed miaofiltrabon (IMF) to enhance removal efficiency. For feeding samples with 2 mg/1 of arsenic concentration. IMF coupled with PAC (Smolt) removed 41 % of total arsenic, compared to 20% for mate (5mg/1). With the introduction of adsorbent. IMF can be applied for dissolved organic rejection process. Hybrid membrane systems with PAC demonstrated better performances on arsenic removal.
