Empirical formula relating the bulk modulus to the lattice constant in tetrahedral semiconductors

The role of cavalency in determining the bulk moduli of tetrahedral semiconductors is shown to yield an accurate expression for calculating the bulk modulus for these materials. A bulk modulus is obtained using lattice constant and gave reasonable agreement with experimental and other calculations.
