Description
Summary:This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the Lattice method in helping students improve their achievement, level of motivation and level of interest. A quantitatively shaped quasi -experimental design was used in this study. The study consisted of 64 respondents distributed non -randomly. Respondents were divided into two groups, namely the treatment group (Lattice method) and the control group (traditional method). Data were collected using achievement tests and questionnaires. Descriptive analysis was made based on the gender and race of the respondents. The results of paired sample t-test analysis showed that student achievement had improved after 4 intervention sessions were conducted. The achievement of students who use the Lattice method is higher than the achievement of students who use the traditional method. In addition, independent t-tests were used to look at differences in achievement in the two groups. The achievement of the treatment group using the Lattice method was higher than the control group using the traditional method. Descriptive analysis was also made based on a questionnaire to detect the level of motivation and level of interest of students. The average mean for section B in this questionnaire was 4.71, while the average means for section C in this questionnaire was 4.73. The average mean for all items in sections B and C in the questionnaire was very high. Clearly, the Lattice method is very effective in improving the achievement, motivation level and interest level of the respondents. Ongoing research on the Lattice method should be undertaken in order to obtain stronger evidence of its effectiveness. This study also has implications for the field of education.
