Summary:The purpose of this study is to identify the perceptions of novice teachers and mentor teachers on the implementation of the mentoring program at school. Perception of the strengths and weaknesses of the mentoring program and the difference in perception of two parties namely novice teachers and mentor teachers. Quantitative data is taken using questionnaire from 468 secondary and primary school teachers in Johor. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software 26.0 is used to analyze mean data and percentages. Through the study, the results of the study have found that the perception of novice teachers on the implementation of phasing mentoring programs is very positive where the mentoring program helps in the development of novice teachers as a professional teacher. In addition, this study also found that the mentoring program itself could help novice teachers overcome their problems such as isolated taste, classroom management problems and problems in teaching. The findings show that mentor teachers provide assistance in terms of learning, school climate, tutoring, monitoring novice teachers on a regular basis, holding discussions, and giving feedback after every time discussing teaching and teaching especially when observations are made. Finally, the respondents have also suggested that there is no clear difference between the perceptions of novice teachers and mentor teachers on the manding program that must be implemented when the entry of a novice teacher in a school.
