Description
Summary:CFRP is a material with a wide variety of applications including aircraft, ships, vehicles, sports equipment, and more. Micro drilling is used to ensure precise rotation of the drill and a special drilling time. So, the longer the wear rate area, the shorter the length of the drill bits. When using micro drilling, the rate of ware is hard to measure and lead to insufficient surface integrity of hole drill. This study, focused on the influence of micro drilling parameter towards wear rate. There are three different spindle speed which are 8,000 rpm, 10,762 rpm and 11,017 and the feed rate constant at 0.1 mm/rev. Highest number of holes is at 300 holes and for each 60 holes the percentage rate of wear and length of ware on drill bits will be measured. These aims include evaluating the impact of micro drilling parameters on CFRP panels, researching the influence of micro drilling parameters on CFRP panels, and discussing the influence of micro drilling parameters on CFRP panels. Result showed that, the highest number of holes, the maximum percentage rate of wear and the highest length of the wear. As number of holes is at 300 holes, percentage rate of wear is 58.79% and length of the wear is 1,535.79 µm. As conclusion, when applying the same parameters, as number of holes increased, the percentage rate of wear will also increase and length of wear on drill bits will decrease.
