| Summary: | The ability to understand the factors that contributed to the choices of vehicles is important for the car manufacturers, policy makers and the government in order to prepare the best vehicle system for the consumers. This research was aimed to identify factors that will affect the choices of vehicles amongst the new generations according to the purposes and affordability and then classifying the factors between engineering and non-engineering criteria. This research was conducted by preparing a survey to analyze the factors that will contributed to the choice of vehicles. The results obtained were analyzed to find the similarity of factors between the new generations. The relationship of the factors were linked to age, region of residence and the monthly income of the respondents. Two factors that heavily affected the choices of vehicles are comfort and cost while other factors such as frequency of service, concern on environment, traffic congestion, design, and safety also contributed to the choices. |
