Description
Summary:The development of modern livestock and agriculture industry has produced a lot of products which are more rapid and economically advantageous. Recently, polemics has arisen in poultry industry in terms of sanctity of animals being fed by najs and filth that can be considered as al-jallalah and whether the animals are halal or haram to be consumed by human. This study focuses on the concept of aljallalah from the fiqh perspective. Observations are based on legal sources of Islam, including the current fatwa in Malaysia. This study suggest that fish and plants that live in unclean environments may be presumed (Qiyas) as al-jallalah. As a solution, al-istibra' instrument is a method that can be used as an alternative to purify al-jallalah by disappearing its odor, taste and color.
