Summary: | In this present study, starch has been blended with poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) and from XRD study the starch/PEO with ratio 7:3 exhibits the least amount of crystallinity and was chosen in the preparation of polymer electrolyte. Films of starch/PEO blends were then prepared via solution casting technique and their properties with different amount of ammonium nitrate, NH4NO3 were compared. The blend films were characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Xray Diffraction Micrscopy, (XRD). The highest conductivity at room temperature of about 2.81±0.46 x 10-7Scm-1 was achieved with addition of 35wt% NH4NO3 (sample C7). Dielectric data were analyzed using complex permittivity and complex electrical modulus for the sample with the highest ionic conductivity. The relaxation time, τ for these samples was determined and the plot shows that τ decreases with conductivity of the complexes. Temperature dependance study shows different evaluation which is the lower load of NH4NO3 salt showing no particular pattern can be achieved however sample C7 and C8 is exhibit Arrhenius behavior. |
