Summary: | This study aims to stipulate the level of the teachers and the student’s role of assessment concerning the vocational education in the elementary stage and the students’ tendencies towards the vocational education. For achieving this goal two questionnaires have been designed. The first questionnaire constituting of 12 items has been designed to contain four themes: (4) the curriculum of the vocational education; (5) the objectives of the vocational education; (2) the aids of the vocational education and (1) the teachers of the vocational education. The questionnaire was delivered to a total number of 24 teachers of the vocational education of both males and females. The second questionnaire was also distributed for both male and female students of a total number of 4521 of the 40thgrade. Additionally, the researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with 2 teachers and 42 students. The results of the study revealed that the four main themes play an important role in developing the students’ tendencies towards the vocational education. The mean was 2412 from the teachers’ perspectives indicating a moderate value. Not far from this result, the mean of the variable of the vocational education curriculum was 2420 whereas the mean of theme of the vocational objectives was 2412. Regarding the aids of the vocational education, the mean was 2402 whereas it reached 2422 for the variable of vocational education teachers. Throughout the interviews analysis, it seemed that the values of the whole constructs/variables are convergent and approximate comparing to the results of the questionnaires. The teachers’ answers of the interviews questions were quite high reaching 254557. From the students’ point of views the mean of the questionnaire was
2412 in general whereas the mean of the vocational education curriculum reached 2423, and the mean of the objectives was 2422,and the meant of the aids was just 2442 and that of the teachers reached 2415. Not far from that of the teachers, the result of the students’ individual interviews was 24422 with a high rank too. The results of the (t.test) showed that there are differences among students and teachers moving positively to the side of the students. Additionally, the (t.test) revealed that the distinctions among students due to the variable of gender moving positively towards the males. The study showed that there are no differences among teachers due to their gender. The results of the (MANOVA) analysis revealed that there are differences among teachers due to the time length of experience and there is no difference regarding their qualifications. The (one Way ANOVA) analysis generally revealed that no differences in the teachers’ questionnaire regarding the study variables. The study came up with some recommendations such as the diversity in the topics of the vocational education curriculum to suit the modern requirements of educational carrying out professional workshops for teachers to let them know the objectives of the curriculum and the nature of the subject in addition to the teaching methods especially in the main dimensions of the vocational education curricula. |
