Description
Summary:This project is a study on 'Analysis of new lunar visibility data to derive a new youngest crescent visibility criterion'. This research aims to find a criterion of the best, accurate and comprehensive for all people in the world to use those criteria with no doubt and suspicious. 3 major aspects to be up the formation of the lunar calendar are: Astronomical predictions for the lunar crescent visibility, prediction method that covers the whole world, consideration for the use and implementation around the world. Visibility of new moon at the time and the right features is important to set important dates in Islam as the beginning of the fasting of Ramadan, Eid and perform the Hajj in Mecca. Data of Malaysia and Global were analyzed and the results, it is found an average moon's visibility by a certain parameter matching the criteria were studied and described by astronomers earlier. In addition, data from Indonesia has been discussed for all those parameters from the height of the month (altitude), Azimuth, lag time, moon's age and elongasi very different from the criteria of other countries. As an example of inequality determine their data collections are the age of the moon. Data records of the age of the moon reached an agreement that is less than 40 hours and more than 12 hours, but Indonesia set a maximum age of the moon is 12 hours. This is evidently a very significant difference. There are several criteria that have been discussed through this report. However, the determination several other criteria were discussed. However. the determination of important dates in Islam will rely on two methods either Mathematics or Rukyah.
