| Summary: | The purpose of this research is to study about the profession of Women Syarie
Lawyers in regard to their development, prospects and challenges with the focus on
the Women Syarie Lawyers in the state of Negeri Sembilan. Besides, it is also to
know the perceptions of students with Syariah Law background toward Women
Syarie Lawyers. Two representative samples of students from Islamic University
College of Malaysia (IUCM) and International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM)
with Syariah Law background have been chosen in order to make a comparative study
of their views. The developmental steps those have been taken by the authorities in
enhance the profession have also been observed. The methods of interviews, surveys,
and library research are used. Hence, the findings from all the representative groups
have shown the positive thinking and perception of Women Syarie Lawyers in this
country. In fact, Women Syarie Lawyers have their own potentials and images that
have contributed to the enhancement of the Syariah Legal Profession in Malaysia. |
