There are many faulty accusations against Sunnah made by the Orientalists, despite the efforts and care taken by the Muslims to preserve it. In response, many contemporary Muslim scholars wrote books to counteract these false accusation. One of them were Muhammad ibn Abu Shahbah in his book entitled Difa’an Sunnah. As such, this paper endeavor to analyse the methods adopted by Abu Shahbah in disproving of both the sanad and matn of the Hadith. It also highlight the importance of his book on defending the Sunnah and its sanctity
