Description
Summary:Information on carbon stock in recreational forests is limited in many countries, including Malaysia. Policymakers and resource managers with a lack of such information may make inappropriate decisions in managing forest resources. To address this problem, present study used primary sources of data to assess the carbon stock in Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest (AKRF). This study also used allometric equations to determine the amount of carbon stock in AKRF, which estimated at 449.80 Mg carbon per hectare. The finding indicates society can benefit significantly from multiple ecosystem services even if a forest is established for a single purpose.
