Summary:It is well known that the oil palm plantation sector contributes to the development of the country's economy due to the increase in the market price of palm fruit in the world market. The growth of Malaysia's palm oil industry is one of the most important contributors to the country's economic stability. Low of personality and leadership behavior become one of the problems facing by workers in order to increase workers performance. Even though this issue needs more attention, but the number of studies is still inadequate especially involve general workers in plantation sector in Malaysia. Hence, the aims of this concept paper are to critically review and identify gaps in current literature on personality, leadership behavior and workers performance, provide a definition of these variables, explore the role of personality on leadership behavior and workers performance and come out with recommendation for future research. This study will conduct in Sarawak, Malaysia in the farming sector. This study will be investigated five dimensions the Big Five Personality Model which are openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. The research aim is to measure the influence of the five dimensions of Big Five Personality on leadership behavior and workers performance. A total of 200 of general workers from plantation sector in Sarawak will be choosing as respondents for this research. There are three questionnaires (refer Appendix 1) used there are Mini-International Personality Item Pool (IPIP), Transformational Leadership and Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ). Descriptive statistic and regression method via Statistical Package for Science Social (SPSS) version 26 will be using for analysis the data. The findings of this study will be a reference in order to enhance the workers performance especially in plantation sector in Malaysia. However, this study only focuses on general farm workers in Sarawak. Therefore, future studies are suggested to expand the study on the other population.
