The study focuses on the dependent variable, crime, and the independent variables, including unemployment, inflation, population growth, and economic growth. Employing correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, the research explores the nuanced relationships and impacts of these variables on crime. Findings reveal that unemployment and population growth exhibit significant relationships and impacts on crime in Malaysia. Conversely, inflation and economic growth do not show statistically significant associations with crime. In light of these results, recommendations are made for Malaysian authorities to address the identified issues. The study proposes the implementation of tailored social programs by the government to assist those facing unemployment, incorporating mental health services, to address the multifaceted challenges associated with joblessness. Additionally, the research suggests encouraging businesses to enhance their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts in crime prevention, involving active participation in community outreach programs, contributing to projects targeting socio-economic factors contributing to crime.
