The research for this study which is the literature review was done before the geometry construction and simulation begin. In this thesis, I developed a qualitative and quantitative distinction between the effectiveness of a staggered design guide vane and a baseline design which is without the guide vane. Staggered design is a combination of both aerofoil and camber shape guide vane designed for the axial fan to check the improvement in efficiency compared to the baseline design. The guide vane and rotor blades are designed in Auto Cad before transferring into the commercial CFD software Gambit. The important steps in order to perform the geometry creation and boundary conditions are discussed in the CFD simulation setup. In addition to that, the size function is set using commercial CFD software Gambit for the design and simulated using Fluent where the data is obtained from the ANCA experimental value. In order to achieve the result for this analysis, I had to perform mesh dependency test and a steady state analysis. The result is discussed in the form of graphs and diagrams which is taken from the software Fluent. The result shows that, the axial fan with the guide vane shows higher improvement in parameters such in velocity, the direction of flow and recirculation which eventually improves the efficiency compared to the axial fan without the guide vane. 2024-12-13T08:35:06Z 2024-12-13T08:35:06Z 2013 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/35359 en application/pdf |
