Using the vast ocean as the platform for solar radiation absorption, OTEC is an energy technology that converts these solar radiations into electric power. OTEC system uses the ocean's natural thermal gradient - the fact that the ocean's layers of water have different temperatures to drive a power- producing cycle. The difference in temperature of about 20°C (36°F) between the warm surface water and the cold deep water enables an OTEC system to produce a noteworthy amount of power. This thesis reports the literature review of OTEC from its history, feasibility and technological studies, potential location determination for OTEC implementation, methods on sea temperature determination, plant design, cost, advantages and drawbacks, and improvisation of OTEC. Result on the interview and survey done is also discussed for deeper understanding on the said subject. 2024-11-29T02:56:58Z 2024-11-29T02:56:58Z 2010 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/35180 en application/pdf
