Green roofs are increasingly being constructed in urban environments to offer a range of environmental benefits. It has become one of the key elements in an urban area in the past few decades. However, little is known about the moisture content within extensive green roof system. Various research has been done, but only a little research that has been in tropical climates specifically in Malaysia. Therefore, this research focused on the moisture content behaviour within an extensive green roof system with regard to different native plant species in Malaysia. The study is supported by 6 green roofs with 5 being vegetated and one leaf unvegetated. Five green roofs are vegetated with different native plant species which are portulaca grandiflora cultivars (Sedum), carpet grass, cow grass and combination with all species. The substrate vlumetric moisture content (VMC) was recorded daily every three hours 4 times a day. Each green roof will be measured at three different places to get the average of volumetric moisture content (VMC). Data collection will be started from 21 November 2014. The results finally show that it met the objectives of this research. 2024-11-04T02:17:38Z 2024-11-04T02:17:38Z 2015 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/34968 en application/pdf |
