Many industries technology have been successfully used SACP as one of the method to existence of concrete in avoiding corrosion For this reason the author decided to test further application by conducting the experiment for sacrificial anode cathodic protection and to compare the effect of corrosion of the steel embedded concrete with SACP and without SACP. This thesis first examines the testing procedure on performing SACP experiment for steel embedded concrete in seawater and presents the results. For this project, the experiment is carried out into finding results of corrosion rate and current density by using the Gamry software. Moreover, the results for potential difference and the corrosion behaviour for the concrete has been determined. The experiment has been conducted for 7 days. This experiment uses seawater as the electrolyte. The seawater is collected at Pantai Saujana, Port Dickson. Other than that, the material used for the anode is aluminium and the cathode is concrete in this experiment. In order to get the correct weight ratio the measurement for anode and cathode is measured thoroughly. The results of the experiment show that the potential values for the concrete with SACP is higher than the concrete without SACP. This shows that the concrete is well protected by the aluminium anode during the 7 days of experiment. It is observed that the corrosion behaviour for concrete with SACP is less corroded compared to concrete without SACP. This conclude that the SACP is the best way in preventing corrosion. The author recommends further modification to the technology to avoid any circumstances. 2024-10-30T07:02:48Z 2024-10-30T07:02:48Z 2014 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/34937 en application/pdf |
