Nowadays, distributed generation has start to pique interest among the citizens of Malaysia. Malaysian government have introduced many initiatives and incentives in order to increase the amount of PV system in Malaysia. This is to reduce stress on the power plant to meet power demand. But this will introduce a back flow in the system power flow. In traditional power transmission system, there are less factors that need to be considered due to centralized system. The introduction of distributed generation makes controlling the system a little bit more complex due to multiple factors that need to be taken into consideration. One of the issue is to control the power quality of the power transmitted in in the system. One of the power quality issues is harmonics. Harmonics exist since the power system exist but only come into the light when power electronics start to emerge and were used worldwide. Harmonics can cause problem especially to power equipment and motor. In PV system, inverter is an important component no matter if it is standalone or grid-tie system. Inverter is one of the main source of harmonics in the power system. There are a lot of method can be used to reduce harmonics produce by a PV system but this project will focus on a novel control strategy that will repress the amounts of harmonics produce by the inverter. This control strategy is build based on the sinusoidal pulse width modulation. This control strategy is also theoretically will have a better voltage output and total harmonic distortion compared with the SPWM control strategy. 2024-10-24T06:27:43Z 2024-10-24T06:27:43Z 2016 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/34871 en application/pdf |
