The power meter is power up by 5 Volt DC voltages and use to calculate 240 Volt single phase AC voltages. The design will able to calculate the energy usage of a load and display the energy consumption to the user. There are 2 major problems for this design. As define by Blondel's theorem, the first problem of the current transformer is that the current transformer can only measure the current of the live wire of the load and not the neutral wire of the load. If the live wire and the neutral wire are putting through the current transformer together, there will be no output from the current transformer. The second problem for this project is that the current transformer cannot be split open. This means every times the user want to calculate the energy consumption of a load, the user need to cut the live wire into two and let the live wire of the load passing through the current transformer. After that, the user needs to reconnect the live wire again before the user can turn on the load. After the analysis been done and the design been finalize, the design been fabricated. After that the prototype had been test with a Philip light bulb. The prototype was successful to calculate the energy usage of the light bulb. 2024-10-23T03:53:20Z 2024-10-23T03:53:20Z 2015 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/34850 en application/pdf
