This greenhouse gases causes the increase in earth's average surface temperature. The examples of greenhouse gases that produce from this fossil fuel burning is carbon dioxide, methane and vapor. One of the most effective way to reduce the greenhouse gases is by capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) during the process of the combustion. Chemical looping combustion (CLC) is one of the most effective method to capture the carbon dioxide without need of energy. This method use oxygen carrier to provide oxygen (O2) that react with fuel to form carbon dioxide (CO2) and (H2O). This will circulate back to the two interconnected fluidized bed reactors which known as fuel reactor and air reactor. This project based Nickel based oxygen carrier. Besides that, the NiO/NiAl304 powder were synthesized using solution combustion method with plant extract renewable fuel Aloe Vera as the fuel. In order to optimize the performance of the particles parameters were set. The parameters in this project is calcination temperatures which is 600°C, 800°C, 1050°C and 1300°C. From this various temperature, this will enable us to determine and study the morphology and elemental composition of the particles of NiO/NiAl3O4 powder. Characterization was carry out in order to determine the morphology and elemental composition which is XRD, FESEM and EDX tests. In CLC application high reactivity can be achieved by using smaller particle of oxygen carrier and anti-agglomeration. This method succeed in producing high crystallite size nano-structure powder as well crystalline structure at temperature of 1050°C after undergoes all the characterization which is XRD,FESEM and EDX. 2024-10-07T03:32:39Z 2024-10-07T03:32:39Z 2016 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/33709 en application/pdf |
