Start from the bottom of the process, mechanical energy play in an important role to produce electrical energy. Hence, Boiler is one of the important system in power plant where it also required periodical maintenance process. The objective of this project is to develop an inspection robot for supporting the maintenance work in inspection of boiler. This inspection robot provides a visual inspection of an inner pipe surface. An in-pipe inspection robot for the boiler tube by using magnetic wheel was developed to increase the traction force on ferromagnetic pipe. The inspection robot will capture the images of the internal pipe surface. Scope of the project is to design an inspection robot with 1-inch pipe and all the mechanical parts must be covered. In this point, limitation of designing these robots has become challenged. Research in reviewing existing product, past research paper and patent are in considered to collect all the recommendation and feedback of the inspection robots design. Serval concept design were developed before choosing the finalize design to fabricate the prototype. The inspection robot prototype was tested and analyzed the function and performance.
