Operation of reservoirs in such areas normally requires the interests of several user groups to be taken into account, and optimal and balanced operation strategies are to be established. Optimization of reservoir operation in an area has attracted extensive research. This has applied at all stages of development, from planning the new infrastructure to real time operation of existing dams. The amount of water escaped in such event is exceedingly larger than all previous flood events and response time is significantly shorter than that of normal runoff-flood event. The impacts due to dam failure are often catastrophic lead to losses lives, as well as in social, economic and environmental values of such downstream area. The purpose of this project is to enhance the research of the probability of the dam break event and the climate change effects on the performance of hydrology and hydraulic in Pergau Hydroelectric Scheme through the use of hydrodynamic modeling. Moreover, the updated information of the reservoir and basin is used to plan and optimize the operation strategies. The enhancement of hydropower production is possible with improvement of accurate inflows forecasts' modeling. By using data collection, climate change forecasting data, develop rainfall intensity duration frequency curve, hydrological review Rainfall-Runoff Simulation using HEC-HMS and finally Flood Routing and Estimation of Design Flood are the methodology of this project. As the result, this information will be translated into database and preparation of Emergency Action Plan and quantification of the impacts downstream. It can be conclude that all the objectives are reached from this study so in future the Pergau dam can be resist and also there is no problem for the downstream people. 2024-08-22T03:30:20Z 2024-08-22T03:30:20Z 2013 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/33268 en application/pdf
