Plate bonding method using steel plate and CFRP laminate is the most famous method in the strengthening field. But it is crucial to mention that, the main weakness of the system premature debonding at plate end (end peeling). Anchorage system may decrease this major problem. Effect of connectors to eliminate deboning is the main objective of this research. Three rectangular reinforced concrete beams (2300 mm X 250 mm X 125 mm) were tested. The design methods based on BS 8110 (BSI, 1985) were proposed in order to determine the dimension of the strengthening materials. All strengthening beams were under-reinforced. The control beam has bean chosen as an un-strengthened beam. One beam is strengthened by steel plate (1650 mm X 75 mm X 3 mm) and a connector (20 mm X 16 mm). The other beam is strengthened by a steel plate (1650 mm X 75 mm X 3 mm) and a connector (20 mm X 16 mm) and U shape end anchors (125 mm X 40 mm X 250 mm), which the thickness of the anchorage is, 3 mm as well. Consequences of this study show that strengthened reinforced concrete beams compare to the control beam have high first crack load, high steel bar strain and more mid-span deflection whereas it is seen less ultimate load. Overall, the steel plate strengthened reinforced concrete beam with connecters and U shape end anchorage showed, less concrete compressive strain, less steel bar strain and also less mid-span deflection, on the other hand, high ultimate load and high first crack load compare to the strengthened reinforced concrete beam with steel plate and connectors are mater of course in this study. 2024-07-31T08:24:42Z 2024-07-31T08:24:42Z 2013 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/33145 en_US application/pdf |
