This thesis project helps the wheelchair user by installing a hydraulic lift system which helps in the aid of lowering and increasing the height of the wheelchair seat. The system is located below. the seat of the wheelchair. A wheelchair lift is a mechanical platform designed to raise and lower to allow an individual with a wheelchair to enter and exit a vehicle. There are many different styles of wheelchair lifts to fit most individual needs and lifestyles. A wheelchair lift can provide the independence to go wherever the user wants and when they want to. Many people rely on the dual-post wheelchair lift for its strength, dependability and stability. A single-post split-platform lift will allow access to the entryway where the lift is located. This clears the way for others to enter and exit the vehicle without having to deploy the lift. In this project a hydraulic lift system will be used to lift the patients from the seat of the wheelchair to their desired location. The hydraulic lift system will be attached beneath the wheelchair's seat and it will also have an adjustable armrest so that it will not get in the way when the user wants to move to their desired location. A hydraulic lift system is used in various machines. The main function of hydraulic lift system is to carry heavy load with great ease and lift it vertically.
