TIG Welding has the advantage of having small weld head, required only a low heat input and the filet metal is optional. The only disadvantage is its expensive equipment. The objective of this research project is to investigate the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding joints and its mechanical properties on 316 Stainless Steel and Mild Steel. The aim is to understand the characteristic of the joint of 316 Stainless Steel and Mild Steel using the TIG Welding process. In this research, both 316 Stainless Steel and Mild Steel will be used and the plates will be weld using TIG welding process. Both the plates will be welded according to several specifications proposed and the welded materials will be treated in the material laboratory. The material will be tested using several Non Destructive Test (NDT) such as Radiography Test (RT) and Liquid Penetrant Test (LPT) to obtain the results. After that, the result will be compare with the theoretical results given and analyze the weakness in the procedures. As a conclusion, the objectives of the Final Year Project (FYP) have been fully fulfilled. From the researched that I have done, the basic concepts and principles in TIG Welding on both 316 Stainless Steel and Mild Steel had been defined. These projects are divided into two parts which consists of the literature studies and the experiment to weld using TIG Welding. 2024-06-02T11:11:01Z 2024-06-02T11:11:01Z 2015 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/32503 en_US application/pdf |
