This makes home automation system to become popular day by day all over the work and a lot of improvements and research are being made to make life simpler and reducing work load. Household appliances and activities are controlled by automatic and electronic systems such as smart phone. Android powered mobiles are very common and useful in our life as it uses internet of things which can be used to control our home devices through it. The system is made of software, hardware, communication system and electronic interfaces that works together to integrate different electronic devices. It will be very useful for disabled and old people as the system will be user friendly and can be controlled remotely. The purpose of this thesis is to improvise modern home automation system which uses wireless technology to control all electronic devices in a remote place by internet. It can provide safety and security by detecting suspicious movement, fire and helps the user with personal assistant. It can be performed fast and easy by using only a GSM which uses SMS communication to control the system. Appliances such as camera and alarm can be controlled from a remote area using the internet. Energy can be conserved by switching on and off appliances or machines when no one is around. With the help of Arduino microcontroller, a combined home assistance and security system is developed in this project. In this project we have combined home automation and security system with the help of a microcontroller.
