However, to generate electricity, fossil fuels are needed and these fuels are depleting and cannot be replenish. Therefore, renewable resources such as solar, biomass and wind are introduced to mitigate this problem. Solar energy has been around for decades as the earth receive abundant amount of sunlight throughout the year. Unfortunately, the solar energy is not that efficient to cater the needs of the human activities. Recently, a new has been discovered to actually increase the efficiency with little resources using solar. The term is call Thermophotovoltaic Solar Energy (TPV). This type of mechanism uses heat to generate electricity and does not depend solely on the sun. Regarding to the project, there are many experiments and observations have been done. Not only that, the author has actually combine the solar energy concept with TPV energy to generate electricity. This is due to the fact that, the real TPV mechanism is still not commercialised and the author decided to combine and make it as close as possible to the concept where it uses heat to generate electricity. Solar panel, thermoelectric generator, and batteries are the main sources to generate electricity. The main idea is to prove from the thermoelectric generator that it can generate electricity from heat energy. The solar panel and battery are just back-up generator to support the thermoelectric generator. Although the efficiency is quite low, hopefully in the future it will be enhanced further to greater heights. In this thesis, there are diagrams and comparisons and details on the equipment use and the concept. In a nutshell, TPV is the best alternative to actually replace the solar energy. 2024-05-30T12:17:51Z 2024-05-30T12:17:51Z 2015 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/32471 en application/pdf |
