With the appropriate application of the digestion technology, the development of economically feasible biogas digesters is not beyond the capability of Malaysia's waste. The production of biogas is from the anaerobic digestion of the organic waste is a mature expertise that may present tangible benefits to waste collectors. Biogas technology can alleviate many grave problems in the developing countries, such as rural energy scarcity, low agriculture yield and poor public health. The generation rate of the municipal solid waste is expected to increase to 2.2 billion tons per year by 2025 worldwide. The food waste in Malaysia is estimated about 16,688 tons food daily and about 5.9 million per year. With this large amount of waste, an alternative should be taken for the benefits to the country and the people. Since there are a lot of food waste in Malaysia and there are also rural areas that does not have any electricity supply, an alternative like 10 MW biogas power plant is taken to turn the food waste into the biogas production and then tu the energy to the electricity. From 67,570 kg of food waste per month in Perak, it is estimated that 18,945.4629 MW/h of biogas production in a month. The total energy usage in a month for 22 houses in Changkat Jong is estimated about 53.4433 MW/h and the electricity cover base on this project is about 12.82%. The average electricity supply needed per households in a year can be supported by this biogas power plant. The GHGs emission reduced is about 41.8% (ICO) per year which will help in reducing the global warming 2024-04-08T01:28:55Z 2024-04-08T01:28:55Z 2019 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/31823 en application/pdf
