This slagging and fouling formations greatly affects the performance and efficiency of the furnace. Empty fruit bunch is a by product of palm oil that can be utilised for burning in the furnace. However, the slagging and fouling deposits from the burning of empty fruit bunch (EFB) hinder the operator to utilise fuel. The co-firing of empty fruit bunch with coal may improve the slaggging and propensities of the both constituents. The samples of empty fruit bunch is blended together with coal at a specific ratio.
